These two herbs, Rosemary and Sage, both have mild stimulant properties. Not like the mega-jolt, 3 dollar coffees at the fancy coffee shops, but stimulant properties none the less.

Rosemary and Sage, don't contain caffeine, but they do have stimulating effects on the body and the brain. Just the smell of Rosemary oil diffused in the air has been shown to stimulate brain activity in research subjects.

If you're trying to cut back on acidic coffee, or if you just want a natural boost, try steeping a small sprig of Rosemary and a few leaves of Sage in some hot water. I like to sip a cup whenever I need to do some advanced thinking. Best of all it's alkalizing to my body. I can dig it.

I'll just run out to my organic garden and grab some to steep in hot, purified water. I also enjoy diffusing Rosemary into the air . It smells nice and stimulates my brain. -

Herbal History Nugget:

Greek scholars were said to wear a bit of the herb in their hair when engaged in study, in order to increase concentration.

Safety:

Don't ever consume Rosemary essential oil by mouth, it's dangerous. The fresh or dried herb is fine in salads, used in cooking or as a tea.
