Garlic has been popular amongst herbalists and eaters of the wonderful herb for thousands of years. According to the Bible, Egyptian slaves ate garlic as they built the pyramids Numbers 11:5 - "We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic."
If you read any good book on herbs, you will see the benefits of garlic going on and on.... Garlic is one of the easiest plants in the world to grow yourself. Simply get a bulb of garlic, any grocery store version will do. Even old garlic that has been laying around and has begun to sprout works well. Separate the cloves and stick single cloves in the ground, pointy side up. You can plant garlic almost any time of year. If you don't care to eat garlic, there are always garlic pills. The challenge is to find one of good quality and does not cause a bad odor. |
